Welcome to The Washington
Originally built in 1890, The Washington has been renovated to preserve it’s historic charm while incorporating modern features and amenities. This charming three-story home has eight designated units with their own private entrance, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and dining area and/or living room, and a washer and dryer. Unwind on the spacious wrap-around porch or soak up the sun on the three decks with lake views. All units are privately separated, with entrances off the front porch, and are available for booking. There’s something special about spending summers in Sandusky, and that’s why after coming here for over 20 years to enjoy our days on Lake Erie, we recognized the need for convenient and luxury accommodations.
The Washington celebrates the history of the building, taking every opportunity to highlight the original charm like wooden framework, while mixing modern decor to bring the space back to life. The Washington is now available to welcome those traveling to the Sandusky area. Here you will find a luxurious and affordable lodging option that is close to many desired locations.

The Washington is located on the cusp of Shoreline Park and Battery Park Marina. This prime location offers lake views and the ability to scope out downtown Water Street from its three-story deck. Within walking distance to local eateries and shops along Market and Water street, where you can enjoy happy hour and fresh bites along these waterfront stops.

The Washington is nestled into a welcoming neighborhood with easy walkability to local spots, or a short drive to main destinations. There’s a variety of delicious dining options and bars just steps away. If you’re a boat enthusiast, Battery Park Marina and Sandusky Yacht Club are both a quick 10-minute walk next to two street piers. Walk 10 minutes to East Shoreline Drive and hop on the Lake Erie Island Cruises or the Jet Express to go to Put-In-Bay or Kelleys Island. We’re also a less than 10-minute drive to Cedar Point and Sports Force Parks. If you’re looking for some water fun, you can find Kalahari Resorts 13 minutes away. No matter what you’re interested in, The Washington is a spot for everyone.
